    Default .CO domains?

Has anyone here bought any of the new .co domains or are they considered a complete waste of time?

waste of time. simple fact is .co is not an extension that people recognise. maybe in 20 years time though when people's houses will have a domain name. so if u wanna buy for then, no problem.

Plenty of us have bought them.

The idea that joebob average internet user care about the actual domain url (as opposed to the hypertext title) before clicking through via a search engine is utter shit (unless they are looking for a specific website in the first place).

Whether they will actually be valuable or not depends on whether Google actually supports them as a truly global top level domain, which remains to be seen.

o.co went for $350,000 - bought by overstock. some pretty smart people are inversting in it, although thats a branding thing.

    A waste of $350k ...fowards direct to overstock.com(see toys.com)..

Or an excellent branding strategy(they bought o.biz also), only time will tell

Hmm, i'm not sure that Google are going to like it so much..so it probably will just end up being as difficult to rank as .com and others.

However, you can get loads of keywords in the domain, which will make it easier to rank.

I preregistered a few that I have yet to have added to my account. Name.com is taking their precious time with them.
