Thread: How did spammers got my search phrases?

Some time ago I typed a highly complex search phrase to google and dogpile, a week ago or such, that same phrase complete with my typos and all (coincidence? it would be something like 0,0009%), was on a spam site. The searchphrase didn't previously give any results.
Whoa, how was that possible? I scanned my PC for possible adware but nothing was there! So how you do "steal" keywords ex. from Google users for spamblogs/sites? I am a noob, wanna know.

Sounds like they just scraped your site....took your content and used it as theirs to rank their page for the term.

Do you have any referrers from hxxp://www.keywordspy.com/ ? This resource hits one of my sites all the time.

W-h-a-t? My problem has nothing to do with my websites (which I have none, I'm not a spammer). Lol. I am talking about something or someone stealing somehow my search queries I use daily, into their spam sites. And I think only you can answer why it's happens and how.

I explain it again:

1. I go to some search engine.
2. I type in my complex search query with typos and all.
3. Some time later that exactly same search phrase I used, is on some spam site.
4. I don't have a clue how the searchphrase leaked to spammers.

How in the hell is that possible? I thought google/dogpile/whatevers were very secure, but seems that they allow people to hack into their keyword logs or something (I don't really know, I',m a noob).

Sort of weird you dont have any sites of your own, but that will change if you stay here a while.
Anyhow as far as your problem, I would be scanning your pc with various tools to check for crap in it. Not simply A/V software. Get adware/spyware tools to have a deep look through your system. Spybot etc.
Hope ya get this sorted fella as that would be pissing me off no end if someone was reading my searching habbits. Well now i think of it it could be a good thing.

Could dogpile search be source of this, as it has "search spy" feature there. I use dogpile pretty often. Do spammers use the search spy to get keyword lists for their sites? I wanna know for sure as this is creepy....

Google Pages also stores everything you search for and page you visit. Part of the page rank TOS.
