Default How To Hack My Laptop?

Mods: Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I changed the password to my laptop. Unfortunately, I must have made a typo, because the password I thought i put in isn't working. Can anyone suggest a clever way to get in please?

format your hard drive and start fresh... or you can google "forgot windows password, how to reset" and work from there.

Start Windows in safe mode, login as admin, and change the password.

You can download and burn this bootable disc image and reset your password: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Out of experience, sometimes a simple system restore does the trick, doesn't work all the time though.

On your pc . Wait Untill it asks for your password.

Then press and hold both buttons "Ctrl" and "alt" then press "del" 2 times.

Then you'll ask to login. then give login as administrator and leave password as blank and login. thats it. you'll get access in. enjoy

Hold F8 while booting up your laptop (preferably after the bios load screen), a boot menu will appear, choose start windows in safe mode and press enter, log in as the admin, and you can change your user settings from there.

There are a few ways to do this.

I am going to assume you are on a windows.

First, try the method above me, and once you are logged in:

    1. Go to start>run

    2. Type in 'cmd' to open command prompt (anti quotes)

    3. Next, type 'net users youruserhere *' and type a new password on

If that does not work for you, burn a copy of ophcrack:

    http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

Pretty self explanatory and easy to use program.

    google search for cia commander...
Download the bootable disk and boot your laptop from that disk; you'll be able to change the password from there to whatever you want.

You guys are all so nice - thank you!

I feel bad about not replying to this thread sooner. I feel asleep earlier. It had gone 1am.

I tried the suggestion by voyevoda and it worked a treat. So, thank you, voyevoda! It's very much appreciated!

Thanks for everyone else too for the great info. I'm sure others will find this thread useless in years to come. More than likely, it'll be me - after I do it again, forget how to sort it, and return here!!
