Thread: Safe Place to Buy Domains

Im wondering does anyone know of a good place to buy domains. I have got a couple complaints saying i used the domains for the wrong purpose. Is there a company overseas or a company that doesnt care much about complaints?

I purchase a lot of domains through 1and1.com. They are very cheap and they have never once complained....even when "cease and desist" orders from trademark holders are sent through them to me.

Cancelling the domain is a bit of a pain in the ass but private registrations are free so it is well worth the $7 per domain.

So would that include if a website was saying they are spamming our website with this domain place cancel there domain

Well I can't speak for them but if it is basic link spamming you are asking about, I have had no issues with spamming my links and keeping my domain names. That being said, if you are going nuts and causing major headaches for website owners or engaging in illegal activity, they could potentially take action.

Its a Social Networking site causing all the trouble they are contacting godaddy which is where the domains where purchased asking to cease and desist

I have heard a lot of horror stories about GoDaddy and this problem so you may want to stay away from them. It is hard to do though when the .info's are so cheap right now.

I buy domains on a very regular basis.

My preferences are:
namecheap >>> great customer service , fair pricing, easy to navigate interface

1and1 >>> great pricing, customer service is hit and miss and I don't like the auto renewal , free anonymous whois

ipower.com >>> pricing, easy interface

Go daddy is the absolute worst place to buy domains. If I wanted to screw you I could easily find out your domain was registered through godaddy and have a bunch of friends around the country claim you spammed us. They'll revoke your domain just like that.

For offshore domain name registration you can use katzglobal.com

Yes I absolutely agree I think anonymous and offshore domain is the way to go. Any other solid bullet proof domain companies?
