    Default Hostgator baby plan

Some people have said hostgator baby plan is okay for ABs, at least when starting out.

Im using it myself, but when you add a domain/site in their cpanel Addon thing. Any new domain added will be subdomains to that first domain you had. This cant be good cuz you'l be interlinking all the AB's

You can "add on" domains and they won't be a sub-domain of your main domain. They are all separate, just under 1 cpanel.

Actually there will be no interlinking unless you actually link them.

In the cpanel you can just make a gibberish subdomain so it is less likely to be found.

Also, never visit the subdomain especially with toolbars and other BHOs.

Is there some setting for this on cpanel I am missing? On my hosts that use it, you are forced to set up a subdomain for an addon.

I also spoke with a HG rep online, dude said with the baby plan it will always make a subdomain no matter what, If you dont want a subdomain, u need a reseller acct

@crixus, i did visit like 2 of my subdomains today for the first time today, hope it doesnt get deindexed or anything

Maybe I'm being dumb, but I just add on the domains and that's that. No linking or anything.

All the sites share the same cpanel, but they are all separate domains.

They are separate domains, but they are also subdomains. Do me a favor and go check awstats in cpanel, tell me if you see all subdomains or if they are separate domains

I don't use HostGator but I believe it's the same as my site. You get both a:

    newdomain.firstdomain.com
    and newdomain.com

@BlackxHat they are add on domains. I have business plan with them and I have observed lately that there is not much difference between baby and business plan which they were having 1 year ago.

I'm also planning to switch to baby.

They are all seperate domians and sub domains of your originals domian. so example

you first domain ever with them was blahblahblah.com and you add on this domain addon.com

    you will have

addon.com by itself, and also have
    addon.blahblahblah.com
