It really depends on your level of tech proficiency. If you don't know HTML, www.blogger.com is really simple to use. If you want to do a lot of customization, Free Blogs, Pro Blogs, & Business Blogs | TypePad is probably better.

But try to get visitor and customer those interested in your field. As in blogs provide the unique content , use images and small videos for explain our business concept more clear.

a blog can be a great support to your main website. it can give you free back links also you can run it with less effort that your main website. and both of the sites can be your money site. i think its the best use of blog.
