Thread: How effective is cloaking?

Hi, this is my first post and thread... I am juts wondering how effective or safe is cloaking strategy? I want to try this tactic but I still do need some more information about it... Thanks guys...

I'm by no means a pro at it, but my experience is as follows.

I have access to an actively updated database of bots. If you're going to do this you'll need access to that or come up with a better way to do this. cloaking by user agent is not that effective, because I've seen instances in my logs of Google hitting my sites with out identifying themselves in the user agent.

You'll also need a lot of domains. I used .infos I bought 20 of them and had them all redirecting to an MFA site.

I used YACG to create keyword rich web pages for the search engines to spider.
When I used YACG the cloaking feature wasn't working properly so I had to ghetto rig it.

I the blog and ping method to get my pages indexed by the search engines. They way I had it setup was every time a search engine hit my a page I'd ping a
different page. Needless to say I was hitting the ping services a lot. For some reason I was never banned from them, but your results might very.

I managed to get several thousand pages indexed in google for about 3 to 4 months before the got shit canned. The traffic was okay I guess for only have 20 domains around 100 - 150 uniques a day.

I learned a lot in the process mainly my niche sucked and I would have made more cash promoting affiliate links. Everyone I talked to that is doing this said to promote affiliate links and don't worry about adsense, but being the hard headed ass that I am I didn't listen. I was told the proper way to do that is buy a crap load of domains more then 20 then break them up between several different affiliate offers see what merchants convert then hammer the shit out of them.

I forgot. If you have the cash to burn. SSEC is a good product. It does almost all of the work for you.

Wow, that is one great infos... But it seems that it would do take a lot of effort... Is there anything about cloaking that would be more simple and more easier? Except of course buying an SSEC product... In short, a free cloaking?

sure you'll find some cloaking scripts floating around. But like evilrabbi said, cloaking is no use unless you have the updated database of se bots. Without this, you'll get found out and whacked out of the search engine index within a month - if not a week ..
