    Default landing pages & referrers

    question about referrers -

    this may depend completely on the affil. program... but is it less suspicious to affilates if I have a landing page redirecting to an ad without a referrer, or should i allow the referrer of the landing page to go through to the affil?

    for instance

    youtube comment -> xyzlandingdomain.com --redirect--> ad
    or
    youtube comment -> xyzlandingdomain.com --iframe--> ad

    should i avoid sending the referrer or not? it seems the nature of ads would make it suspicious if people arrived at the ad with no referrer...

    or maybe i'm just nitpicking.

    A blank referrer would surely raise questions and there are valid answers that you could give. But if you do have a decent landing page, I don't think there's any harm in allowing the referrer ...

    in the past there have been some hacks you could do to spoof the referrer... i wonder how well that would work should it ever be possible again.
