Default CJ Question: Tracking, updates, etc

Got my CJ account up and rolling and all the advertisers links have images attached, so naturally pull out the aff link and place it behind my image (which is OK with the Aff manager...my image was approved). It says I have 10 clicks, $1 earned. A little while longer...after I tested it myself...it said I had 10 clicks, $2 earned.

Now I know there are more clicks because I am pushing heavy targeted traffic to the link as we speak.

    So:
How often do they update? Why do the clicks stay the same, but it went up $1?Where can I generate my own, reliable aff code to place in the image?Am I doing something wrong with this, its been almost two hours with movement of $1 and nothing with clicks...has to be something with the link because 100 people have pushed directly to it...assuming 50 would click through at the least? Or am I just impatient and over analyzing.....

First time with CJ, have a great method just want to make sure the aff link deal is sealed so I can walk away from my computer for a minute with a clear head.

Each advertiser updates differently so you will have some funny numbers at times so don't sweat that. I usually don't expect an update until the following day if I am looking for accurate numbers.

A almost always use my own images with the affiliate link but if I want to hide that it is an affiliate link, I'll use any of the sites that shorten the link for you.

Its always hours behind. Also, if you log out and log in it updates faster rather than hitting refresh.

Also, check if the advertiser does "batch reporting." This can be located on the advertiser detail page. If indeed they do "batch reporting" this means that the advertiser is able to look over, and finalize the actions of the cookie, before sending them off to Commission Junction. The advertisers are able to update this daily, weekly and I've seen some advertiser update it only once a month!
