Thread: Honestly, how much money in freelance writing?

I think its about quality + marketing.

If you are really good at writing, then you should promote yourself well. Start your own site may be.

Some people here on BHW sell their articles for $5-6 per 500 words. On the other hand on sites like freelancer, I've hired good writers for $2-3 per 500 words.

Start a site, offer good rates for your article services, build a client list and provide services on time, everytime so they don't have to look elsewhere. Offer occasional discounts etc and you'll have a winner

I am a solid writer. I wouldn't consider myself a copywriter or anything of that nature, but I am good with words and unique views on content. Above average I'd say. What can someone realistically expect to make from writing content freelance? I do my own e-Commerce thing but I'm looking for side work that is supplemental. I don't mind working long hours, nor do I mind deadlines. Outlook?
