Guess it depends on one's needs. Serious IM and online businesses surely not wise to use free service. Hosting is the very essential if not vital part of any online businesses.

If "unfortunately" most of the webhosts with cheap prices are not performing well, can't imagine what could happen to the services of the Free webhosts.

Most of the time, free services offered by webhosts are just a marketing ploy to achieve their own agenda and purpose. Logically, no one can afford to truly provide a Free hosting service for nothing.

Sadly, the webhosts always have the upperhand on us and can cripple any virtual real estate (VRE) anytime with the slightest issues that created by its VRE owner regardless of whether due to circumstances or intentional. It's hard to find a true working partner webhost, and if you are lucky to find one, treasure it.

Webhosts are running a business too. Those who uses their premium services always get better treatment than shared hosting. Webhosting is one area a serious online marketer will not want to compromise.
