If you use a windows machine you'd need virtuozzo for making the vps's. It can get pricey. For a more reasonable price point you'd want a linux machine - and then use hypervm or similar virtualization software to make the vps's.

Unless you want the multiple windows vps for remote desktop access. Then ya you're kinda stuck with virtuozzo. Its the best out there.

Hypervm and virtuozzo base on the open-source virtualization systems xen and openvz and are just a management layer on top. If you want to start, you might eventually consider to use Xen like Amazon's cloud does, but be prepared for a lot of work and non-trivial tweaking for windows guests.

yeah I am looking for windows vps for remote desktop access. Looking for 20-40 servers... anyone know of the best way to go about this? Or just buy vps 1 at a time? These will be not be random people so I dont need to worry about any of that. .. I am wondering if there is some type of company that lets you resell their vps servers or something. I talked to rackspace and they were talking about a private cloud - estimated at 6 grand to start from what I saw. Any ideas/companies to give this a go with would be appreciated. The idea of renting the vps's 1 at a time does not sound that great.. although it doesn't look like its going to be cheap any way.
