Default Does .info rank in Google?

I recently bought a dot info with a certain keyword (buying keyword). I worked really hard. I did press releases, directory submissions, blog commenting, and social bookmarking. I don't see any trace for the website in google at all :S

Can someone tell me what is happening ?

How long has it been? I have a lot of .info domains, and I've been ranking them without much difficulty. You may just need to give it a bit more time.

do you use the google webmaster tools? then you can see if any of the pages are indexed or not?

did you use something else like market samurai to see if your in the first 1000?

I have plenty of .info ranking like any .com would

I've had pretty good luck with most of my .info's. But I have to admit, after a couple months there are a couple I can't get g@ogle to put into the top 1000, no matter what I do. What's really weird is that sometimes the same site will have a page that will rank first page for a clickbank product, but won't rank in the top one thousand for what should be a relatively easy main keyword. WTF?

Wow, give it some time. Even a .com won't index in a day. Digg it, tweet it. (twitter is real time now, digg gets crawled 3-4 times a day - at least).

im pretty sure that it does not matter.. and that it will rank just fine.. but might be a little harder because its not as popular..

    lol. are you even indexed?

as i posted before google prefers geo domains..

but second come all general domains. including .com, .org, .net and .info.

for seo it doesn`t matter.. its just the humans who value a .info lower..

its asociated with spam a lot, and anyone who wants to build a longterm site and wants to brand it uses a .com.
just because of the fact that if people hear a url, the automaticly asociate it with .com.

when people try to find your website again for a second visit, they always try the .com version first, its just programmed into their brain..

people may remember the domain, but they don`t remember the extension... it automaticly turns .com in their mind. because thats the standard...

    which actually is quite remarkable..
the rest of the world associate their country extension to a domain first.. in my case .nl.. but US people associate webadresses with .com first.. while .US is the TLD for the USA..

and if you want to rank your site in the USA serps, the .US tld actually is your best option because its geo targeted, and ranked better by google..
but nobody seems to notice that and blindly take .com everytime.
ok, a .com will rank worldwide, and a .us wont. but most marketers aim for us only anyway and asian traffic is useless to them. so why bother with a generic domain like .com or .org..

.info is just as good as .com for ranking.
but a geo targeted domain is even better.
