I recently got scammed and had a chargeback filed to my Paypal account in the amount of $1100. Fortunately I'd closed the bank account and check card linked to my Paypal, so they've no way of pulling funds from ME.
My understanding is that Paypal pays the amount of the chargeback/refund themselves, upfront, and then your money goes to them when they can get it. And if they don't have access to your money, then they say "please resolve your negative account balance", but don't actually do shit to reclaim it. This is exactly what happened to me last fall (for $1900), so I'm not talking out of my ass, here.
I just wanted to make sure that this was still the case, if anyone else has recently experienced the same situation?
