Never mind. - Took action and this is working pretty good.

Little side-twist - use the pinger tool from the download section and ping the URL. It bumps up the view count quite a bit, and also gets the page indexed.

I bought a site about 5 months ago, therakebackmafia.com / I was told it was black hat SEO but was ok in the google guidelines. Since I have gotten several incoming links, and wrote a few articles. There are some very short articles on the site that are really just not complete but I dont see that as the problem.
About 2 months ago google penalized it. Someone told me it was called a " 50 " penelty. Many terms at say 3-5 dropped instantly to about 45-60.... IT varies about 25 spots all day long now but never better than 40 for any terms.
I have no idea what is wrong or what to do. I would appreciate help on points that I should work on and how. I am pretty green at this so explain in simple terms please.
Also would not mind hiring help at all, with proof you know what you are doing. Had some bad luck online hiring help. From what I hear there is no real expert on this but hoping someone hear can shed light on this for me. Thanks

Why do you think you are being penalized since it happened after you started doing some link building it might be the google dance. I am no expert but I think most sites usually do that after you start building links. I have always heard just to keep building links and it should come back to the first page. If im wrong please correct me.

Well I dont know alot about all this. But I am about positive this was a penelty. It has been over 2 months and no change at all. This site already had massive links. They are spammy to me, but I was told were inside the rules of google. One day instantly it crashed. 100's of terms. I monitored at least 20 terms on page 1.... Every single one went to pay 5 thru 7. I am confident this is not the google regualar issues. This was some sort of penelty.... IT is frustrating that I will pay to make it right... Just no real answers known it seems./
