    Default New type of product?

    Hi Blackhatters..

This post is really a spin off from an existing post from Hudders, I didnt want to hijack his thread with my own ideas though.

I am interested in putting together a new product and was just looking for some feedback on what you thought.

My product idea is based on...wait for it...Making money online...

Nothing new there then. But this time I hope there is. My experience lies mostly in offline businesses and over the years I have learned internet marketing to improve those businesses. Like most IMers I got the bug and it became an obsession.

The bulk of my offline business now involves working with local businesses and their websites. I hope to be able to put together a course which would show someone how to build a build a business which can provide an SEO service to other local businesses. I would also show I integrate whitehat and blackhat techniques and use software to automate my systems. This allows me to take on more clients and hence make more money.

The beauty of this system is the fact most of my clients are on monthly retainers so I get recurring income. Also, most of the search terms I go after are very easy e.g "Dentist in some small town somewhere". I would show how I use software (most of them available in this very forums VIP section) to deliver the best possible service for the least amount of work.

If you feel that this product is something you might be interested in how would you prefer it delivered? An e-book? Video course? A membership site? My thought was to have it as a membership site and offer a guarantee. My guarantee would be that if you have not found your first client by 3 months the course is free until you do?!

This system could potentially be useful for a newbie or someone with the knowledge but struggling to make any real money online. I certainly would not be making any guarantees of untold riches. In my opinion, most IMers do this because they want to earn decent money at home, not to become a millionaire.

On the other hand, there is no reason why this business model cannot be scaled up worldwide with hard work and dedication.

The other thing to bear in mind, this course would not be aimed at someone who has no money at all. I do not feel it is possible to start a business with zero money. We have to pay for things like domains, hosting, software etc. BUT, it is possible to do it on the cheap (this forum is a perfect example) and I would share every money saving trick I know, black or whitehat.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. How would you like this course delivered and how much would you be prepared to pay?

There would of course be special rates for this, the greatest IM forum on the net.

(That is of course, until someone decides to share it in the freebies section......!!)

    Thanks in advance.

    Linkwhizz,
best of luck with your course.
There are a lot of offline course going now. I think the thing you should have included is a realistic fees scale you can charge clients for each bit of work. And how many hours a week/month do you dedicate to client sites for upkeep. Most other courses go "Hey you get $1,000 or $2,000 a shop". Really?
Personnally I like ebook courses with some video content to back up difficult parts.
At the moment I probably wouldn't buy a course cause I am workng on something to make money online. Sorry :-(
But I would look at your sales pitch and sees if the work/results/money was something I would be into. I have been giving the offline stuff some thought.
I think typical prices for courses are around $37 to $77. It would need to be something really special (include special software of some kind) to make it $197.
To back it up with a membership you would need fresh useful content and Q & A every month. Or offer some service the members can use for the month, again software, site submission services or writing services.
