These are great tips, I often thought that it was supposed to blend in and be hidden to match your site, and i could never decide if I want the square text or other.

How do you fit that big square-like shape into your layout, though? It seems to big to fit into anywhere.

My tip: wrap your adsense ad in articles (if you have article-like sites). Put the large rectangle wrapped next to your text. Your CTR will dramatically increase! On one of my niches it delivers me 40+%.

Also, less is more. Don't put three ad units, but two and all above the fold.

Yep, the putting straight links near the top or like a side bar makes more people click on them thinking it is navigation.
