Quality back links are more important than quantity back links. So always try to do quality back links instead of quantity back links because if you make many back links but they are not quality then there is no meaning of getting back links.

Actually quality is main for backlink. High quality backlink is the controlling fact for ranking. There is no other alternative of high quality backlinks.

Most times, its always quality over quantity links. That doesn't mean you shouldn't create as many backlinks as you can.

obviously you should concentrate on quality backlinks from relevant sites. you should keep in mind that 100 quality backlinks from relevant sites are much effective than 10000 irrelevant backlinks.

Well, as per my opinion both the thing quality and quantity are important for getting back links though I have seen some websites with high quality back links with low PR and some high low quantity with high PR.

Thank you for your response. I decided just to do many things and making random as you said back boat tracker, with articles, catalogs, nofollow blogs, forums, etc. Do we have already moved into SERPS. Our competition stinks.

    Hi guys,

So I've set up some sites with a business partner and he knows hardly anything about SEO/computers/the web. I'm a web designer and know an OK amount, but I'd class myself as a SEO newbie.

Anyway, these sites have been optimised onsite - title tags, meta, h1, h2, etc. and without backlinks we rank at the top of the second page for .co.uk for our keyword. Competition is hardly anything - our competition have NO backlinks (or if they do, they're from themselves).

Now, this has made it a tiny bit harder for me. I have ScrapeBox and I've been using it a bit and it's great, but as I say competition has hardly any backlinks so I can't take theirs. Now, my business partner is wanting to just keep getting crappy links from directories... most of these directories want a reciprocal link - is it worth bothering?

There aren't many sites or blogs relating to our keywords, but there are broader topics that are similar. So my question is, should be target relevant sites that want reciprocal backlinking, or irrelevant sites that don't? I really don't want to be linking to these other sites, as they're probably full of crap and I don't want them to hurt us.

    Would appreciate some help.
Google only loves quality remember that. Focus only on quality, start small and increase it in following weeks(50 links this week, 75 next week etc...)
