Not Sure Where To Post This, Need Legal Advice..kinda? lol

hey guys n gals, hope you all are doing well.

I have a question for you guyz, if anyone knows the answer, that'd be peachy.

How much trouble (if any) can you get into lieng on your website. Im talking legal trouble, not moral. My morals have been lost sometime after watching 2 girls 1 cup lol....

Basically, If I build A Website saying "Get Halo Reach For Free! Just sign up on our website" and not give them the game, can I get into legal trouble?

Just wondering about stuff like this,

I dont think you would have any legal problems unless Either Microshaft contacts you OR one of your unhappy visitors reports your website. Just make sure you get private whois and you should be fine if its a small site.

The private domain and such would be easy, but im trying to also make money off the site, so lets just say i had a cpa offer on the page, they could track me down by my aff ID.

So, its not a question of "how do i hide myself" its more of "Is this gonna get me thrown in jail/fined" type thing

There are plenty of sites out there that promise visitors something in return for completing an offer or informational form and never deliver on the initial promise. If connected to a CPA offer, your thinking is correct in that if you piss off enough people, a certain percentage will report your affiliate ID to the CPA company assuming they are smart enough to do so.

The best way (least trouble), in my opinion, to go about this would be to advertise your "free" game or whatever and make it contingent upon completing your CPA offer which is also directly related to the freebie you claim to be offering. The logic is this: if the visitor completes the CPA offer and follows the fine print, they will receive the product or service as represented. However, since most people quickly discover all the hoops they must jump through to obtain said product, they give up and move on. As you know however, it only takes them completing the first few pages before you get paid!

Well honestly there's no legal trouble as long as the wording is correct.

"Complete this offer for a CHANCE to win Halo: Reach!"

see the big word? that is your golden key to being legally set. then in your disclaimer you can write that it's only a "chance" and it's a 1:200,000 chance at that. Then have a complimentary e-product they receive like a game guide.

*side thought*

Hell even send one out eventually (to someone in a bigger metropolitan area) why? because then they'll tell all their friends about it and they'll sign up and you'll make even more money. Then by doing so you can link to your other sites for getting new products for free. An actual free one here and there will keep it active.
