    Hi Neil ...

Your ideas and concepts are awesome ... keep going ;-)

However the reason why nobody answered to this question is because this thing you want to do is not possible.

There are many factors not being in charge of. For instance you do not know the username and passwords of your visitors .. you also do not know what bookmarking services they use ... -> problem 1 and 2

Problem 3 is that such things always need interaction inserting some additional tags etc.

Usually the bookmarking is done when being logged in to the specific service or when having a icon in the browser window.

So yea ... i think it is not possible ... it might be (maybe there is a way i do not think about right now) ... but if so ... nobody has ever thought of. If that would work it ... it would be pretty cool though.

Here is a very shady way it might be possible ... but it uses the very unethical cross site scripting techniques ... if you can figure out what bookmarking services your visitors use and if you can hijack their session cookies and if you are infront of your computer (to be able to use their cookies as long as the session exists) ... then you could find some way if this specific visitor comes back ... to bookmark him ... but as said .. this is very, very shady ... and i do not recommend to use such techniques ... since it hurts your reputation big time once visitors find it out.

Maybe there is even a law (privacy policy kind of view) that could bring you in big trouble when you do such things.

    Hope it helped ...
    cheers

so in other words have site a with auto bookmarking script then it adds the bookmark of site b to internet explorer favourites then that site has also have the favicon cookie stuffed, so i guess when you open up favourites it will try to pull in the favicon and obviously will stuff them, then if site a is put on something like traffic*s*warm and after accepted add the bookmarking code
