    Default Create an iphone app

I have zero knowledge with anything involved with how to create an app but I have an idea. If you werre in my spot, would you hire someone to create the app, use an indian service to create it or maybe something like hxxp://w3w.createiphonesapp.net?

Does anyone have any experience with costs and obviously potential profits.

find a MAC programmer...most of them know that objective C...

But I would hire a programmer not one of those sites where you submit an idea and split profits with them...I can't imagine many of them being all that honest.

Here's a link about iphone programming language, there is no such thing as a "mac programmer" exactly as its written in a standard programming language but there are some things that are special to the iphone so you want someone with some experience with this, its not easy to hire and manage programmers unless you know what you're doing so you would probably want to go with a company, odesk.com may be an ok place to find a company with experience, make them show you examples of past apps they have done first

Yeah I guess I shouldn't have said "MAC programmer" more...find someone that builds applications for MACs and you probably are going to find someone that knows Objective C. It isn't tremendously different than C++ other than syntax seems to be slighltly different. At least from examples I have seen when trying to investigate it as well.

There are a few things which I guess you could consider a wrapper for javascript I was looking at but I don't see how you could do much with them really.

I would say it is very viable to say there are such a thing as "MAC programmers". They are people who are experienced with objective-c (not really sure if that is unique to macs) and also experienced with the Cocoa framework in objective-C (cocoa is definitely unqiue to MACs and would probably be qualifying of calling someone a MAC programmer).

To the OP, depending on theneeeds of your app, it could cost anywhere from $500 to several thousands of dollars to code (when you hire someone). If you have no experience in programming, iPhone programming, or objective-c, creating the app yourself will be difficult and time consuming. Developing an app for the iPhone requires a Mac (cost for you there if you do not have a mac is atleast $300 [assumes you buy used]). Then if you wish to have your app distributed on iTunes (the only way to make money from it) you will have to pay the $99 developer fee to become an iPhone developer and be registered to submit your app to iTunes.

WHichever route you go, it is going to cost you atleast $99 and I believe if you want to be the only person with access to the profits you will need to buy a MAC or find some way to get regular access to a MAC (inorder to package your app and be able to send it to apple for approval).
