Thread: EMERGENCY: Need help

Hello,
I'm new here.
I hope I can find help.
Someone I do not know hacked/cracked/stole my Skype, msn, & yahoo IDs.
I don't know how he did it, but after I've done some Internet search, I found some programs that pretend be email cracker.
Please help me to understand:
1- Is it impossible to secure these account?
2- How can I reset my accounts?

you need to contact the various providers to try and get your accounts back, and advise them what happened.
Using the password reset will probably not work as chances are they have changed any secret questions/secondary email etc.


If it is someone using a bot then the password reset *might* work if security questions have not been changed. If they have, you need to revert to the above method.

Once you get them back, DO NOT use the same password on each account - especially if the username or main part of the email is the same (ie easyname@hotmail.com/ easyname@gmail.com etc change them to something different on each and keep a note of them all, especially for accounts which you need access to and maintain/visit regularly), and use complicated passwords upper/lower case numbers and characters where allowed to do so. aim for at least 10 - 12 characters for a stronger password.
Same goes if you use the same username and password in forum accounts. Easy for them to be hi-jacked this way too.

I use different nics all over the place, ESPECIALLY on forums and more especially on IM or BH forums, and especially use different passwords for each as it is so easy to get these.
