Thread: WHAT are the BEST WORDPRESS PLUGINS?

I am building a client a website, and was wondering some peoples plugins they use for each wordpress blog that they develop.

Basically the blog is going to be a content blog, so I want most of the content to rank.

The stuff is going to be about Soccer and Soccer Training and about soccer e-book.
main sales page is My Soccer Guide - The Ultimate Soccer Guide

but the blog will be different page

anyhow, your advice would be great :)

If you plan on having any sort of gallery on the site I highly recommend NextGEN Gallery (WordPress › NextGEN Gallery ). It is very easy to manage in the admin panel and functions great.

different people will have different preferences, but if the idea is to get the content ranked, I would suggest using the headspace2 seo plugin.

just search for headspace2 in wp plugins.

when you install it goto the headspace2 settings, click on 'Page Modules' and drag the disabled 'Site Name' module to the top of the enabled modules, so that the page modules have a structure like this:

Site name
Page title
Page description

Purpose of these modules are:

Site name - Allows site name to be changed (i.e your blog name)

Page title - Allow page title to be changed (i.e. the title in the browser window title)

Page description - Allows a short description about the page that is used by search engines


This allows you to target your keywords for each content page -

so have Site Name as the main keyword and Page Title as a secondary keyword for each page of content you create.

For each page of content have a Primary and Secondary keyword and apply as above.

It's up to you whether you keep the pre-loaded 'tags' module active or use the 'keywords' module, both work pretty much the same but the tags module can be used for creating tag cloud on pages.

No matter what kind of wordpress blog I build, before I do anything else, I always grab "Google XML Sitemaps" and "All In One SEO Pack"

These two alone will be great for both fast indexing of your content, and SEO.
Also... under the "Writing" section of your settings, scroll to the bottom where you can list ping sites... Every time you update your site with content, these sites will be pinged. More indexing!!
