Thread: Is creating backlinks behind a FREE proxy bad for SEO?

Is creating backlinks behind a FREE proxy bad for SEO? I mean, is it better to use a private proxy for this purpose? Does Google care?

Google wouldn't know this information unless there is some manner through which the website was posting the IP address of the person who posted a link / comment on their website, I don't know of this being done at all or that google would actually parse this and interpret it as it would be rather taxing on their system so I highly doubt it would matter

nope it doesn't matter. Private proxies are better though because they're faster and more reliable.

if you're a programmer, you can set up scripts that will autocheck a proxy before each action and you can add in a timeout check too so if its slow you can filter it out, I've been building an app that does this and so far its going well, this way you don't need to worry about the where the proxies come from, it just tests it and if its bad it gets a new one and marks the old one as bad within your database.. basically what I'm saying is with proxies its best to just grab in a lot any way you can and filter them out from there, anonyminity and speed are really the only 2 things that matter
