Thread: Are proxies necessary or just paranoia?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I have one burning question that I like some feedback on...

Are proxies really necessary?

I can see how it would be helpful with Social Bookmarking or Craigslist posting but when it comes to Google does it really matter that all your links were built from the same IP?

Please enlighten me.

Your IPs from what? The sites it's finding the links on? What are you talking about?

Proxies are usefull for mass spamming and sometimes (not to say most of the times) you need a spinning proxy list ....

But to post on social bookmarks, google doesn't see your IP (i guess) or at least he is not using it ...

What google see is : "oh there is a link here ! can i grab it ? let's check robots.txt there is no follow so no i can't !
