which one help you more? social networking sites or social bookmarking sites?

I don't prefer one to the other because they both have their unique results and aims in seo. Social networking gives more traffic and social bookmarking gives more backlinks, so i can't do one and leave the other.

I wouldn't use one over the other as they compliment each other quite well. One is more for links and one is more for pure traffic.

They both definitely compliment each other. But if I had to chose one, I'd prefer social bookmarking sites. At least if nothing else works, I know I'm getting a backlink from the site.

Each one will give you benefits that allows the other to work better for you. I don't believe there is one that is used more than the other because they have different purposes that are yet on the same level, such as creating traffic and backlinks, that promotion work will be done by both. You need both, you really can't leave one out and use the other.

If you talk about traffic then social networking sites like facebook, twitter, myspace and many more important than social bookmarking sites but if you talk about back links and ranking then social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious and many more are more important than social networking sites.
