Thread: My site is being backlink spammed. It destroyed my rankings..

Hi, I have suddenly 13000 backlinks... from gosublogger. I don't know where they come from, and if I follow the link, no backlink is found - I just go to gosublogger blog posts. but I can't find my site in google anymore, unless i search for the domain name... I used to rank on page 1

Do you know what to do, when people want's to harm you site, and make a good quality website look spammy in the eyes of google?

Here is a link to what google has to say about bad backlinks. I would say if you just got 13,000 new links you are getting ready to move up in search rankings if anything. Sounds like you are in a google dance.

You can't stop someone linkspamming your site, but since Google is about balance, the best way to protect against the effects is to build GOOD backlinks (unique content, LSI linkwords, authority sites, chains, etc) and have good onpage SEO.

If you get linkspammed and your own SEO is looking spammy, and your onpage is crap, you'll get canned (or at best sandboxed), but if you're otherwise looking good for 'natural' links and SEO, you'll get a short spell in the sandbox and then come out stronger and better placed. Offence (ie doing a bang up job on your SEO) is the best form of defence, IMHO.

last month I suddenly had 500, now 13000 from the same site. It's really weird, and I don't know how I got them.. I just know they've destroyed my rankings and I get 0 visitors now..

Thanks for all you answers. My website did get back on first page for 1 single day, and then it got 14800 backlinks and disappeared once again. It's really weird when I do a search on google for 'gosublogger backlinks' no one else have reported similair experiences. And the weirdest part is that when I click on those backlinks from marketsamurai or yahoo, I can't find the link on the page...

I guess it doesn't make sense that you can fuck up your competetors rankings, but as another guy wrote, Google can't tell if it's me or someone else doing the linkbuilding. I wish I could get in direct contact with google..

That's why you have to do everything you can to make it look 'out of character' to have all these crappy links suddenly appearing. If someone linkspams the BBC or Microsoft (and I bet someone has tried, somewhere, sometime) does Google can them? No. Simple reason, they have authority due to their content and existing links. Google knows they aren't SEO spamming.

But linkspam a new blog that's got scraped content and a ton of fishy backlinks already and yeah, it will be toast. I know it's painfully white hat, but do a good job on the content and SEO yourself, and linkspamming won't harm you (at least not more than temporarily).

After 80 spambacklinks from gosublogger. Page 1 to .. impossible to find in the SERPs. Now when I try to watch a cashed version of my page, it can't even show me that. I just get an error.

It makes sense to me now. Thanks I'd better get to work, and write some articles around my website
