If it were me I would just continue to build links as well. But the other side of my personality would run them through link assistant, find THEIR BACKLINKS and make sure they are not in the same niche as I am to be sure. If I find one site similar to mine well... lets just say I wouldn't be pleased *evil laugh*

    Mate,

If your site got backlink spammed that would mean that Google suddenly indexed all the 13.000 backlinks for you.So is this possible ? Google indexed that fast 13.000 backlinks for you ?

Even when you allow the incoming links on your site and you approve them , and you get pingbacks, that does not mean google indexes them.To be honest , google indexes only a 45% of the whole backlinks.

    So i think,its something else.Why don't you give us other informations ?

Any update on this? I would be interested to find how your site recovered. The Google dance is quite common, I have gotten a clients site from not in the top 100 to page 2 and then have it drop back out of the top 100 for a week and then recover again. In my experience you can often see the Google dance happening in the later 3rd of the month, it seems that Google often does Google Page Ranking updates e.t.c. around that time.

Google will not penalize you for links, they just won't give any value to them. It could also be that they have dropped some previous links that were giving your site value. I would add fresh unique content to the page and then start drip feeding some contextual links using at minimum spun content (not duplicate).

The concern with this is that you don't know how you got the links.
